چکیده

The present study aimed to investigate the effects of a commercial phytogenic feed additive (PFA) on prevention post-weaning diarrhea and oxidative stress in piglets. concentrations thiobarbituric acid reactive substances (TBARS) protein carbonyls (CARBS) were investigated as biomarkers for damage, health performance parameters weaned In total, 100 piglets divided into two groups: control group (T1), which was fed regular weaning feed; an experimental (T2), supplemented with phenolic 3 weeks. TBARS CARBS plasma samples from 20 per measured at 45 65 days age. Fecal collected 24 using FTA ELUTE cards. Diarrhea score, body weight (BW) weaning, average daily gain (ADWG) recorded. (p < 0.001) = significantly higher T1 compared those T2 group. lowest score noted age groups 0.008). conclusion, use PFA current had beneficial antioxidative antimicrobial piglets, improved their growth performance.

Synergistic Antibacterial Effects of Polyphenolic Compounds from Olive Mill Wastewater

Polyphenols or phenolic compounds are groups of secondary metabolites widely distributed in plants and found in olive mill wastewater (OMW). Phenolic compounds as well as OMW extracts were evaluated in vitro for their antimicrobial activity against Gram-positive (Streptococcus pyogenes and Staphylococcus aureus) and Gram-negative bacteria (Escherichia coli and Klebsiella pneumoniae). Most of th...

Extraction of Oleic Acid from Moroccan Olive Mill Wastewater

The production of olive oil in Morocco has recently grown considerably for its economic and nutritional importance favored by the country's climate. After the extraction of olive oil by pressing or centrifuging, the obtained liquid contains oil and vegetation water which is subsequently separated by decanting or centrifugation. Despite its treatment throughout the extraction process, this olive...

Antimicrobial Activity of Olive Mill Waters (Alpechin) and Biotransformed Mill Wastewater Waste- Olive Oil

Olive oil extraction produces a great volume of residue. These olive mill wastes are known as alpechin. This wastewater is a powerful pollutant, resistant to degradation and presents a severe environmental problem related to its high organic content made up largely of simple phenolic compounds, that have been described as being both antimicrobial and phytotoxic. This paper reviews briefly the a...

Administration of a novel plant extract product via drinking water to post-weaning piglets: effects on performance and gut health.

The present study evaluated the effects of a novel plant extract (PE) product (GrazixTM) on the performance and gut health of weaned piglets challenged with Escherichia coli. The PE was a standardised mixture of green tea leaves (Camellia sinensis) and pomegranate fruit (Punica granatum) obtained by using the LiveXtract™ process. A total of 144 piglets were weaned at 24 days and allocated to 8 ...
